The Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy (AACP) will hold its 13th Annual Consultant Pharmacy Seminar, ConPharm at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 June 2017.
ConPharm is one of the most popular events on the CPD calendar. For those actively involved in consultant pharmacy practice it is definitely one seminar that should not be missed.
The program is designed to appeal to accredited pharmacists and those undergoing accreditation. It’s an opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues and meet those accredited pharmacists using their knowledge and skills to practice at the highest level.
The AACP is always delighted to welcome back those who have attended and supported the event since its inception. Attending ConPharm is a great opportunity for newly-accredited pharmacists and those undergoing the accreditation process to meet and be inspired by their more experienced colleagues. In 2016 sixty pharmacists registered for the first time to attend ConPharm, enjoying the valuable CPD and networking. The AACP encourages its newer affiliates to register so they too can experience the friendly collegiate atmosphere of the event.
Speakers already confirmed for the event include Dr Bastian Seidel President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Andrew Ridge the consultant clinical pharmacist who works with him in the primary care setting at Huon Valley Health.
Joining them will be the CEO of Consumers Health Forum of Australia Leanne Wells, as well as the popular regular speakers Debbie Rigby, Andrew Stafford, Geraldine Moses and Jeff Hughes. They will be joined by a group of experienced local clinicians.
The main conference program concludes on Sunday 18 June with the afternoon devoted to a series of the very popular 'Clinical Controversies and Practice Pointers' sessions. These sessions are designed to provide attendees with relevant and up-to-date information to integrate into their day-to-day practice.
The Lung Foundation of Australia will host an optional workshop on Saturday 17 June prior to the commencement of the main conference program for the day. This will be a practical hands-on session with a focus on respiratory inhaler devices. For those arriving in Hobart early, an optional Pain Management Masterclass will be scheduled for Friday morning 16 June.
Hobart offers a contrasting blend of heritage, scenery and culture, with world class activities and attractions nearby.
ConPharm ’17 coincides with one of the city’s premier festivals, Dark Mofo, which runs from Thursday 8 to Wednesday 21 June 2017. This annual mid-winter festival celebrates the dark through large-scale public art, food, film, music, light and noise. Major exhibitions will be held at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) and Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, together with a host of events around the city.
